The Arrow Pro is the latest design from Dave Hill. After years of flying Hand Launch gliders from other manufacturers
Dave borrowed the best
ideas from the top gliders and designed his own to meet the
challenging conditions in Hawaii.
The Arrow has an extremely clean pod wing junction. In high velocity
launches, there is almost no noise except of your fingers
releasing the carbon throwing blade.
The Arrow's low-drag airframe achieves very straight, high launches with no
tendency to over-rotate and veer off-line. This same low-drag attribute is also beneficial when penetrating into the wind coming back from that great thermal.
Superb handling is achieved with a well-balanced wing area and tail
moment. The stab is sized to be very effective in low-speed thermaling
as well as high speed flight modes.
Circling in thermals is a joy with the Arrow. Increased area in the
tip with a slight washout allows the Arrow to groove through the turn
easing the pilot work load. Having an easy plane to circle means less
control inputs and less drag while climbing.
AIRFOIL OPTIONS
• The popular Dr. Mark Drela AG 455ct series. This great combination has proven to be so versatile in so many
models what can you say. It is great for advanced flyers
who make the best of it by changing the camber to suit the conditions.
• The D2265 series designed by Dave Hill. In side by side flying in the same air, this airfoil achieves identical launch
height, but more hang time in light conditions. Climb performance in thermals is visibly faster. It can be flown all day
without changing the camber or worrying if you have the correct amount dialed in. However, it does benefit from camber
changing. Program your wing for reflex, neutral and camber for added performance.
FUSELAGE POD OPTIONS
• Carbon - Two layers of woven carbon on a bias. Extremely stiff and very cool looking. Weighs 24-26 gm.
• Yellow translucent "S"-glass. Two layers on a bias. More flexible than carbon to absorb shock on hard
landings. The color is in the resin so no chipping will occur. Weighs 24-26 gm.
KITS
The Arrow Pro kit
Wings are made of Blue Foam with bagged, woven carbon leading edges and wing tips (no mushy tips), Kevlar behind.
Flaperons are cut and beveled. Servo wells are routed upon request (please state which servos are to be used). Wings need
to be joined and taped. Install front pin and drill hole for screw. Pod and boom need to be joined with the main former.
The Arrow uses an exclusive boom, called the Spider Boom - the stiffest boom on the market and weighs just 16-17 grams.
Plywood hold-down is cut and beveled. Carbon pushrods and black Teflon etched push-rod housings are included. Builder attaches push-rod housings down the boom. Foiled and
bagged balsa tail feathers and carbon stab pylon with screw insert ready to install. Carbon throwing blade,
carbon control horns, carbon leading edge pin, carbon push-rods (.030"), Nylon 10/24 screw, fiberglass for joining
wings & tail feather patches and step-by-step instructions are included.
Arrow Pro ARF
Everything listed above, but the fuse and tail feathers are completed and push rods are attached.
Just join the wing and install your radio.
